Inside Showit you’ll edit the Blog page template, category templates, and the single post template. You’ll write and publish your blog post in WordPress, but it will pull your actual blog post into the right place on your Showit websitewith no extra effort needed. 

Logging in is easy.

  • To login to the Showit app,, just use your Showit username and password.
  • To login to WordPress account, go to YOURDOMAIN.COM/wp-admin/ & login.

At this point, you might be asking why you have to log into two different places…

Remember, you design inside the Showit drag-and-drop design interface. When you log in to Wordpress, that will allow you to access your blog posts & media library, where the images you use on each blog post will live.

First and foremost, when you start a new blog page, you’ll need to choose the WordPress template type, Post List (Default)”. 

When you design your blog, head to the properties panel on the right-hand side, and select the Post List (Default)” option from the dropdown menu.

Design and style the text boxes as you see fit, and label them “Newer Post” and “Older Post” — or something similar. 

To determine how many posts appear on each blog page, go to WordPress -> Settings -> Reading and make your selection. By doing this, you’ll be able to provide visitors with an enjoyable browsing experience.

Once you have your main blog page design set up, it’s time to start building out your category pages, and single post page.

Identify the Categories

To get started, decide which categories you would like to include in your blog. For a wedding photographer, some categories may include Real Weddings”, “Engagement Sessions”, Tips and Advice”, and “Vendors”.

Customizing Single Post Page Showit Template

Now that your post list page is complete, it’s time to create a stunning layout for the individual posts. Select “Single Post” from the “WordPress Template” dropdown and start designing with the given placeholders such as Post Title,” Post Category” and Post Content.” With Showit’s powerful design tools, you can create a beautiful, engaging post page that will draw in your audience.

Creating a Single Post Page template on Showit functions just like setting up any other page. You can add standard canvases, such as headers, footers and sidebars, by choosing “Static Content” in the WordPress dropdown in the canvas settings. This will ensure that WordPress won’t look for any blog content in these canvases.

When customizing this template page, it’s important to make sure you select “Static Content” in the canvas settings. This will let WordPress know that it won’t need to search for any blog content in the various canvases.

When creating a canvas for your blog posts, you can design it however you’d like! Add text boxes for the post title, excerpt, date, category, and more. Use the WordPress Placeholder Text option to designate where each of these elements should be placed. 

To add a featured image, just check the box for WordPress Placeholder Image in the Image Properties panel.

Once your canvas is set up, Showit will automatically pull in the correct information and populate your placeholders. This way, the same canvas can be used to display each post on the website. 

This makes it easier to keep your blog looking consistent and professional.

If you want to make changes to the canvas, you can always go into the Settings menu and select In Post Loop”.

That way, you can update the design of your post without having to update each post individually.
